I have always loved this time of year. The crisp autumn mornings, the crunch of leaves underfoot and the smell of bonfires in the air signalling the start of the festive period. The clocks have gone back, and the evenings are dark and cosy.
This has been a very busy week for us here at Kingfisher Court and it’s not over yet. We began the week scooping and carving pumpkins, creating decorations and celebrating all things Halloween. We had a great time dressing up and enjoying a themed get together. The kitchen team went to town baking spooky treats, and we washed them down with an alcoholic beverage or two.
No sooner had the decorations been taken down we were starting work on our Guy for bonfire night. We were very lucky to discover that we had an expert in the field of Guy making, Derek was happy to give us all a lesson and we created our very own Guy Fawkes, complete with checked shirt and pyjama bottoms. There aren’t many who can carry off such a look, but I think he made it work.
This Friday we are very sorry to be saying goodbye to Linda our lifestyle team manager. Linda has been such a joy to have around, she has organised some wonderful activities, events and outings for us, and we will miss her. We will be giving Linda the send off she deserves at our firework display Friday night.
So, all in all a fun week and a great start to November, Steve will be taking over from Linda next week and has many ideas up his sleeve. We are excited to work with him, putting the new activity schedule together and organising a couple of pre-Christmas trips. There is much to look forward to.
