Cricket, some people love it, some people, not so much. Three people who do love it are two of our residents, Michael and Barry and our lifestyle manager Steve. Both Michael and Steve have played cricket quite successfully in the past and Barry is an avid fan, the three of them spend a lot of time debating the sport and watching televised games. It’s their thing.
This week Steve managed to get three tickets to watch Nottinghamshire play Lancashire at the John Fretwell centre in Mansfield. To say that they were excited would be an understatement.
Tuesday morning arrived and the three of them set off on their boy’s day out. The kitchen team had packed a lunch, Steve checked 3oo times that he had the tickets and off they went.
They had a fabulous day; the game didn’t end quite the way they would have liked it to but that was just details. The atmosphere at the game was wonderful, the sun was out, and the gents just sat back and soaked it in.
Following the match a few of the players came over to introduce themselves and share a few anecdotes, just to put the icing on the cake.
Days like these are so important to our residents, and we are always delighted to make them happen.
